BagImagePlease join us in the first k-12 oriented archaeology fair to take place on the U.Va. Arts Grounds.

This community outreach event, the first of its kind in Jefferson’s academic village, celebrates the Virginia, National and International Archaeology Days, and is presented by the U.Va. Interdisciplinary Program in Archaeology, the McIntire Department of Art, the Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities, the Fralin Museum of Art, the Institute for Humanities and Global Cultures, and the Archaeological Institute of America.

When: Saturday, October 11, 11 am-5 pm

Where: U.Va. Arts Grounds (Ruffin Hall, Campbell Hall, Fralin Museum of Art)

Parking: Culbreth Garage (free)

Activities include meet-and-greet with local field archaeologists, a simulated dig, artifact making, a scavenger hunt, face-painting, gallery tours, interactive computer visualizations, story-telling by Peter Jones (Tell us a Tale, WTJU 91.1 FM) and more!

Free and open to the public, RAIN OR SHINE!
